45 million blind people
1.5 million blind children
124 million people with low vision

Totalling 169 million with serious visual impairment, the worldover

Every Single minute, a child goes blind in the world
Every 5 seconds, a person goes blind in the world

90% of them live in developing countries
and the figure will rise to 75 million by 2020

The situation is alarming, but there is hope
for 80% of cases through proper care and timely treatment.

Which is why, we at Surya are taking the battle to the disease
by addressing it at the initial stages; namely the children.

Most children have healthy, normal eyes, but a few are born with serious eye diseases
or disorders overlooked by ignorant parents as they do not look obvious

In most cases, these problems can be identified and treated even during the first few days of life.
Not addressing it before the age of five may result in the child suffering from serious vision loss or
even blindness.

Care4Vision has been initiated by Surya Eye for the future of the country. Innocent students not aware that minor irritations and disturbances in vision could be the initial stages of a major eye disease leading to even blindness; that could hamper their careers and their lives in the future.
